Overview

MiKashBoks is seeking to hire an experienced individual to manage loan book management, loan operations, compliance and reporting. This associate will play a key role in managing the loan portfolio, strengthening operational systems, and ensuring accurate internal and external reporting. This role is for men and women with a track record of loans management and compliance who want to move into a dynamic fintech organisation.

About MiKashBoks

Founded in 2021, MiKashBoks is a fintech business that seeks to transform the financial experience of the last billion. Our award-winning app provides ‘banking as a service’ for the informal sector – both individuals and groups – so that people at the bottom of the financial pyramid can build a financial footprint and get access to financial services. MiKashBoks has a growing base of customers in Sierra Leone, with over 35,000 registered users. We started piloting a loans program in late 2025 and are now in a position to scale it up. The loans process is highly innovative – entirely digital, based on customers’ credit score built up by our proprietary algorithm through tracking their activity on the MiKashBoks app.

About the Role

The role will encompass, but not be limited to, the following areas:

Loan Operations & Loan Book Management

  • Day-to-day management of the loan portfolio (loan book), including disbursements, repayments, interest accruals, and closures
  • Assessing loan applications and making recommendations to management for approval / rejection
  • Monitoring loan performance, arrears, delinquencies, and write-offs
  • Overseeing interactions with customers to support them in the application and repayment process, working closely with our telesales and customer support teams
  • Ensuring accurate loan records and reconciliations across systems
  • Supporting loan lifecycle operations from origination to repayment
  • Working with product and operations teams to improve loan processes and controls
  • Working with marketing team to shape marketing and communication of our loans program

Compliance & Risk

  • Ensuring compliance with Bank of Sierra Leone (BSL) regulations and other applicable financial and lending regulations
  • Ensuring loan operations comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Assisting in internal and external audits and due diligence processes
  • Preparing and submitting required regulatory filings and reports

Reporting

  • Develop and compile loan management information reports to support internal decision-making and for reporting to third parties
  • Improving financial controls, systems, and operational best practices
  • Compiling project, financial, and impact reports for partner organizations
  • Tracking and reporting on impact metrics related to savings and lending activities
  • Support other teams to develop best practices in reporting

About You

Successful candidates will have a demonstrated track record in loans management and compliance in Sierra Leone. International experience is an added advantage.

Required Skills

  • Full professional proficiency in English
  • Previous experience in fintech, financial services, or lending operations
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, QuickBooks, and Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides, Docs)
