The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Assistant will provide technical and operational support to the M&E Officer in implementing routine monitoring, data collection, data quality assurance, reporting, and information management activities for the TB Outreach Project. The M&E Assistant will serve as the principal assistant to the M&E Officer and will ensure timely, complete, and accurate collection, verification, entry, and reporting of program data generated through the Mobile TB Screening Unit and related TB outreach activities.
Working closely with clinical staff, community health workers, laboratory personnel, and the Strategic Health Information Systems (SHIS) team, the M&E Assistant will support routine data management processes, strengthen data quality, maintain project documentation, monitor patient referrals along the TB continuum of care, and contribute to evidence-based decision-making.
The position requires a highly organized individual with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support daily collection of TB screening, diagnostic, referral, and treatment data from the Mobile TB Screening Unit.
- Ensure complete and timely entry of project data into TB Hunter and other approved electronic systems.
- Verify the completeness and accuracy of source documents before data entry.
- Organize and maintain both electronic and hard-copy project records.
- Ensure all project databases are regularly updated.
- Conduct routine data verification and validation under the supervision of the M&E Officer.
- Identify missing, inconsistent, or inaccurate data and follow up with service providers for correction.
- Participate in routine Data Quality Assessments (DQAs) and data cleaning exercises.
- Maintain high standards of data confidentiality and security.
- Compile daily, weekly, and monthly project reports in the TB mobile Van.
- Assist in preparing donor reports, program updates, and routine monitoring reports.
- Generate routine summaries of project indicators for review by the M&E Officer.
- Maintain reporting schedules and ensure timely submission of reports.
Education and Work Experience Requirements
- WASSCE- Diploma Preferred
- At least three years of formal experience in similar discipline
- Proficiency in MS excel, word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with electronic data collection, data quality assessment, and interpretation
- Good organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

- Ability to work independently while supporting a multidisciplinary team.
